ACCEPTING CLIENTS FROM JULY 2026

Ange Bertram is a registered Play Therapist, Counsellor and Early Childhood Teacher experienced in child-focused therapy. She has spent many years learning what it means to be playfully present - truly present in the joy of play, enabling others, and their emotions, to feel seen, heard and validated. Her strength based approach to supporting social emotional development and wellbeing draws on studies in play therapy, childhood development and mindfulness, incorporating DIR Floortime and Learn to Play techniques.
With ten years experience working with families, and as a parent herself, Ange understands each parenting journey is unique. She seeks to understand each family's story, supporting parental wellbeing as part of a holistic approach that recognises the value of connection and coregulation.
Playfully Present's neuro-affirming services are tailored to meet the needs of children, families, and small groups, ensuring a nurturing environment for growth.

Play as therapeutic approach supports general development and social emotional capacities by facilitating moments for children to practice everyday skills and explore self-concepts, through the intrinsically motivating and developmentally appropriate play experiences.
Play as a form of early intervention -
Session can draw on direct approaches, facilitating a play sequence that focuses on specific areas of development and considers engagement and regulation, visuals optional.
Indirect play therapy experiences -
Session can be non-directive, drawing on CCPT (encouraging play as a form of communication) and/or DIR Floortime (supporting social emotional development through play and connection).
Integrative -
An integrative approach of play suggestions and child-led experiences can also be utilised in the play therapy space to support therapy and wellbeing objectives.
Playful counselling -
Ange has completed studies in wellbeing and mindfulness and can explore these concepts to support anxiety, confidence, social challenges and emotional literacy, using a playful therapeutic approach that draws on play therapy, counselling and teaching methods.
Generally 3 - 12 years
