Based in Launceston (Tasmania), Ange Bertram is a registered Play Therapist, Counsellor and Early Childhood Teacher experienced in child-focused therapy. She has dedicated many years to learning what it means to be playfully present—truly immersed in the joy of play, allowing others and their emotions to feel seen, heard, and validated. Ange's strength-based approach to supporting social emotional development and wellbeing is informed by her studies in play therapy, childhood development, and mindfulness, incorporating DIR Floortime and Learn to Play techniques.
With a decade of experience working with families and as a parent herself, Ange knows that each parenting journey is unique. She seeks to understand each family's story, supporting parental wellbeing as part of a holistic approach that recognises the importance of connection and co-regulation. Playfully Present's neuro-affirming services are tailored to meet the needs of children, families, and small groups, ensuring a nurturing environment for growth.

Play therapy -
Play as a therapeutic approach supports general development and social emotional capacities by facilitating moments for children to practice everyday skills and explore self-concepts. Session can draw on direct approaches, facilitating a play sequence that focuses on specific areas of development and considers engagement and regulation, visuals optional. Or, session can be non-directive, drawing on CCPT (encouraging play as a form of communication) and/or DIR Floortime (supporting social emotional development).
Playful approaches to counselling -
Ange has completed studies in wellbeing and mindfulness and can explore these concepts to support anxiety, confidence, social challenges and emotional literacy, using a playful therapeutic approach that draws on counselling and teaching methods.
Generally 3 - 12 years
Ange wants to understand each clients story so she can suggest a holistic approach that explores and supports all needs. To achieve this, first step is a 60 minute parent/carer appointment. To schedule yours please email ange@playfullypresent.com.au or self-refer via the link below.

Playfully Present can help you...
Ange will work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your family's needs and goals.
The frequency of sessions with Playfully Present will depend on individual needs and goals.
For some children this can be fortnightly for 6-10 months, for others 5-8 sessions that have a direct focus each session can work well.
Services are not always ongoing. Ange also works with many families for a block of therapy that consists of an InTake session, 3-4 play therapy sessions and a follow up parent/guardian chat to discuss observations and recommended strategies.
Once Ange hears your child's story she will be able to recommend a suitable approach/frequency.
